“Baltic Statistics on Medicines 2010-2012” is a statistical summary of the medicines consumption data of the Baltic countries over the last three years. The description of the reimbursement systems, an overview of the medicinal products market and other related subjects can be found in the publication as well.
The national consumption statistics have been collected and published annually in all the Baltic countries for several years but this is the first joint publication which provides comparative data illustrating the differences and similarities of the consumption of drugs in our countries.
The ATC/DDD methodology is used for the comparison of drug consumption. All the ATC groups are included and in addition the consumption of the main groups are illustrated by diagrams and the top 15 of the most used active substances for both prescription-only and over-the counter medicines are presented.
This publication is a result of the co-operation between Baltic Agencies and hopefully is the beginning of a new tradition.
